Denizens can include all kinds of people from Earth or from other more
mythical and unknown areas of the Universe that the portal may happen to appear
in. With a mixture of arcane ritual and mathematics, and when not in use for a
specific purpose, the portal has been fashioned to randomly open to the worlds
it finds for a short period of time. The possibilities are mind boggeling and
truly anything is possible. However, one constant remains in that those who
step through the portal change. The change may be subtle or extreme, and the
transformation always occurs in some form or fashion. It is certainly not
unheard of to see an Elf, Minotaur or truly alienesque beings roaming the
streets of Shangrila. All are welcome and none turned away.
